DDLab Mac readme: September 2024 update ------------------------------------------------------------------- The following file (.tar.gz) contain a the mac 64bit executable and GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE available at http://www.ddlab.org/download/ddlab_compiled_Sept2024/ and mirror sites. ddlabz12_Mac_Monteray.tar.gz (compiled ddlabz12 compiled by MacOSX Monterey 12.7.6 iMac Computer Processor Quad-Core Intel) thanks to Jose Manuel Gomez Soto This compile should also run on other Macs (please report). Run DDLab from a terminal in X11, which must be installed. From the directory with the DDLab files, enter the name of the executable (renamed ddlabz12) preceded by ./ and followed by &, for example ... ./ddlabz12 & Alternatively, first change directory to "ddfiles" then enter the name of the executable preceded by ../ and followed by & ../ddlabz12 & This will keep files generated by DDLab in the ddfiles subdirectory. --------------------------------------------------------------------- You can recompile DDLab yourself from the source code using Makefile_Mac_Monterey_z12 provided in http://www.ddlab.org/download/ddlab_code_Sept2024/ or adapt the this Makefile for your Mac. DDLab would appreciate news of alternative compiles. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Note on missing hash "#" from some mac keyboards: "#" is used for some on-the-fly options, for example, to toggle scrolling space-time patterns.
